The UNESCO-IOC Workshop on Methodologies for Indian Ocean Tsunami Hazard Assessment was held in Bandung, Indonesia, from 17-18 July 2007. The workshop was funded by the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) with host support from the Bandung Institute of Technology in Indonesia. The aim of the workshop was to develop a methodology for tsunami hazard assessment in the Indian Ocean. The results of the workshop were used for a technical hazard assessment conducted by Geoscience Australia in collaboration with interested Indian Ocean countries.
