The objectives of the meeting will be to commence work on preparation of an inventory of HABs related events in the region, HABs related studies and publications, as well as development of a detailed proposal for an IOCAFRICA HABs programme. The participants will also have a session to develop a joint work plan with the national coordinators for the International Atomic Energy Agency’s project on “Applying Nuclear Analytical Techniques to Support Harmful Algal Bloom Management in the Context of Climate and Environmental Change”
