Summary

The ICAN‐Great Lakes 2010 meeting will bring together key professionals who are developing, maintaining, and/or evaluating a CWA for their specific political area or region. The meeting location in Madison, Wisconsin allows a focus on the benefits of networked CWAs for Great Lakes management and restoration. Four additional and important emphases of the meeting are: (1) outreach to emerging CWAs; (2) understanding how CWAs relate to broader initiatives such as the Digital Coast and the Integrated Ocean Observing System; (3) training elements so that participants take away tangible products/knowledge; and (4) continuation of internal ICAN organizational business.
