The marine corrosion electrochemical treatment "LATreat", which I both designed (Patent GB2356405) and pioneered the first seven years of its development, won the prestigious ACE 2011 "Research, Studies and Consulting" Engineering Excellence Award and also "Innovation Award of the Year" at the 2011 British Expertise International Awards for my old employer Mott MacDonald Ltd. I am also the principal author of CIRIA C634 guidance document on the management of ALWC (accelerated low water corrosion) for which this marine corrosion electrochemical treatment methodology was initially targeted.
