Two fields of research interest:
1-Physical Oceanography and applications/.
The West African monsoon system is a climatologically feature of major economic and social importance to the population of the region whose economy heavily relies on agriculture. Understanding its dynamics, variability at various timescales and predict its onset and evolution, would contribute toward food security and the stability of the region. Study of Sea Surface Temperature (SST) in tropical Atlantic is a research initiative aiming to understand the key physical interactions and feedbacks between ocean and West African monsoon. Achievement of this goal It is important to understand and quantify the role that Tropical Atlantic ocean play in the regulation of Tropical Africa climate and global change. Regional Climate Model (RegCM) and Nonlinear Principal Component Analysis (NLPCA) are the main tools of this research. The scope and goals of my research is to better understand the effect of Tropical Atlantic Ocean on West African monsoon.
2-Condensed matter physics/.
A polaron is a quasi particle that arises as a result of a conduction electron (or hole) together with its self induced polarization in an ionic crystal or in a polar semiconductor. Polaronic effects has drawn much attention because of their potential applications, particularly for laser diodes .It also plays an important role in determining the properties of several compounds, such as high-temperature cuprate superconductors, colossal magnetoresistence manganites. Feynman path integral is the first tool of my research. The main conceptual ingredients of the Feynman path integral approach is the interaction of the electron (hole) with the polarization field that is modeled by introduction of the harmonic attraction between the electron (hole) and a “fictitious” particle with mass. The quantum two-level system is a model which describe a number of physical objects such as atoms, quantum dots, molecular magnets, etc. The system can be excited from the ground state to the upper state by changing in time its parameters (due to external fields). Transition between two levels and time of transition is the goal of my research, depending of the environnement; Landau-Zener theory and Landau-Zener-Stückelberg (LZS) interferometry theory is the second tool of my research.
Computation of energy and mass of polaron taking account surrounding environment effect is one of the particular objectives of this my research.
