My primary interests lie in the study of the sound producing, or sonic, muscles of teleosts and the role the sounds produced by these muscles play in the reproductive biology of these species. Approaches to these questions include muscle physiology, from the cellular to the whole animal level;endocrinology, as some of these muscle are sexually dimorphic and/or steroid sensitive; reproductive physiology and behavior; and bioacoustics.
