Activities
My study focuses on
Climate and Health Nexus, Climate Change Impacts, Adaptation, Resilience,
Governance and Policy. With a background
in health promotion, governance and policy studies, my research focus is on
policy dynamics of cross-cutting societal issues, particularly the
transformation of health systems to be climate-resilient, low carbon,
sustainable and equitable. I mainly work in close partnership with indigenous
peoples, local communities, healthcare workers and practitioners for improving
the ability of health systems to anticipate, and implement adaptation
intervention against climate-sensitive disease and health risks, including by
bolstering climate-information services, surveillance, early warning and
response systems and a climate-ready workforce. My expertise in this area stems from my ability to work on the ground in
meaningful ways with partners in government, industry, local communities and
NGOs, and to connect that work to influence global policy, market and finance
to advance work at scale. While working with working groups and think-tanks I
convene regularly with diverse line-ministries and stakeholders to foster
synergies and strengthen national and multilateral collaboration on climate
change and health.
