One of my significant research projects involved studying the microbiome of Rhopilema nomadica, a species of jellyfish. Over the last year, I investigated the microbial communities associated with these jellyfish, aiming to understand their ecological roles and potential impacts on marine ecosystems. This research is crucial for marine ecology as it provides insights into the interactions between jellyfish and their environment, contributing to our understanding of marine biodiversity and ecosystem health. Furthermore, I volunteer with another NGO that studies sharks and rays using citizen science. This involves engaging the public in data collection efforts, which helps gather valuable information on the distribution and behavior of these species. This experience has enriched my understanding of marine megafauna and highlighted the importance of community involvement in scientific research.
In addition, I work as a Sea-Emergency Volunteer Coordinator and Guide for an NGO (Ecoocean). In this role, I am responsible for organizing and coordinating emergency response activities of volunteer groups related to marine incidents, including oil spills, marine animal strandings, and other environmental crises. My work involves conducting emergency drills, and ensuring effective communication and collaboration during actual emergencies. This experience has given me a unique perspective on the practical aspects of marine emergency management, complementing my academic background in marine ecology.
Through these combined experiences, I have developed a comprehensive understanding of both the ecological dynamics of marine environments and the practical challenges of managing emergencies. This dual focus allows me to approach marine conservation and management with a well-rounded perspective, integrating scientific research with hands-on emergency response skills. My goal is to contribute to sustainable marine management practices that protect both marine biodiversity and human interests in coastal areas.

My professional skills include underwater data collection and analysis, citizen science data collection and lab work. I have a Dive Master certification, and completed lately Reef Diver and Marine Surveyor course. I am proficient in boat sampling. Additionally, I work as a Sea-Emergency Volunteer Coordinator and Guide for an NGO, have experience working in marine institutions and with authorities. My training includes freediving and practical experience with marine surveys, making me well-versed in both fieldwork and data processing.
