Aminath Afau is a
highly motivated environmental professional with over a decade of experience in
conservation, climate action, and community engagement. With a Bachelor’s
degree in Environment Management from the Maldives National University and
ongoing postgraduate studies in Climate Change and Sustainable Development at
the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand, she combines academic expertise
with practical field experience. Afau currently serves as the Assistant
Director at the Addu City Council where she oversees the management of Addu
Nature Park and fosters collaborations with stakeholders to promote sustainable
use of natural resources. In this role, Ms Afau also leads the development and
implementation of action plans, management plans and management regulations for
protected areas in Addu Atoll, Maldives.
