I have a strong interdisciplinary background, holding both a PhD and undergraduate degrees that integrate quantitative and qualitative approaches across biological, social, and economic aspects of marine and coastal environments. With more than ten years’ experience working in government and non‑government organisations, I have developed proven analytical and problem‑solving skills supported by an extensive academic and professional track record. I have a solid understanding of the New Zealand Machinery of Government and experience in project planning, prioritisation, and delivery. My work is grounded in a good understanding of Māori culture, values, and the implications of Te Tiriti o Waitangi within environmental and policy contexts. I am an effective communicator in both English and Spanish, with a reputation for being proactive, reliable, respectful, and committed to high professional standards. I bring strong attention to detail, excellent time‑management and organisational skills, and a collaborative, flexible approach to teamwork. I also have substantial experience in laboratory and fieldwork, including specialised training in vessel‑based work, fishing, and diving. In addition, I am proficient with a wide range of analytical, geospatial, statistical, and documentation software, and have a strong understanding of project‑management tools such as PRINCE2. I have also completed Accentuated, a six‑month leadership development programme for women of colour, which strengthened my leadership capabilities and strategic awareness. I am also Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Doctoral programme in Applied Biology and Ecology (Dr-BEA), cooperative programme between Universidad Católica del Norte and Universidad de La Serena, Chile.
