Activities
Nowadays, I'm working on my Ph.D. thesis. My research project is "Sustainability using a transdisciplinary approach: The case of Management and Exploitation Areas for Benthic Resources (AMERB) in the Biobio Region, Chile". The objective of this project is to determine the success or failure of management areas from a transdisciplinary perspective including both, the ecological and human components that are part of this regime, based on community management. The results of this research will represent a relevant contribution to the knowledge of the multidimensional system of management areas in the Biobio Region. This requires strengthening the analytical capabilities involved in the human dimension.
Skills
My background is mainly in the lines of sustainability in fisheries and marine conservation. My Ph.D. research focuses on integrating social and ecological aspects for decision making, addressing artisanal fishing communities based on their perceptions, relationships, actions, and values about the ocean, how to better connect people, marine spaces, and their resources. Contact and diffusion towards the fishing community.
