I am a biological oceanographer and researcher at the University of Tasmania. I hold a PhD in Marine Science from the University of Tasmania and a Master of Science in marine biology from the National Autonomous University of Mexico. In the past, I worked as a postdoctoral research scholar at Scripps Institution of Oceanography at the University of California working for the California Cooperative Oceanic Fisheries Investigations (CalCOFI) long-term program and the California Current Ecosystem Long-Term Ecological Research project (CCE-LTER). I have over 20 years experience in marine research working from estuaries to the deep ocean with my work focused on biological oceanography and ecology of fish. My experience also includes science management and coordination at Australia's Integrated Marine Observing System, EuroGOOS, fisheries management at the Australian Fisheries Management Authority and environmental consulting at Coffey Environments.
