Ernest Ohandja is an Early Career Ocean Professional specializing in marine pollution and biogeochemistry. He obtained his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Microbiology in 2020 from the University of Yaoundé I, Cameroon. He also holds a degree in Coastal and Marine Management (Oceanography), which he completed in 2022 at the Institute of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences, University of Douala, Cameroon.
Currently, Ernest serves as a Research Officer at the Association of Professionals in Coastal and Aquatic Management (APCAM) and is employed at COMASPRE HYDRO SARL. He has assisted lecturers and senior academics at the Institute of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences in undergraduate and postgraduate courses on topics such as the structure and functioning of coastal and marine environments, conservation and protection procedures, numerical ecology, cartography, and statistics. He has also participated in over 10 academic juries.
Ernest is actively involved in five national and international research projects. He has contributed to four thesis field projects, supervised more than six master’s theses, and mentored 25 graduate interns during their final degree projects and internships. About working language, English is my Professional proficiency and
French, my native. In fact, I am bilingual.
In terms of subject areas, I am combine biological, chemical and physical oceanography to have a good understanding of marine ecology.
As an actor of coastal and marine management with multiples skills, I am tying to improve the ocean literacy for youth scientist. This action will increase the considerations of our nutritional ocean systems.
