Dams Implementation Unit was established by a Presidential decree in 2005 to enhance and develop the role played by “Merowe Dam Implementation Unit”. The new body inherited all assets and staff.
Dams Implementation Unit was established to develop and utilize water resources across Sudan according to international measures and standards.
Dams Implementation Unit also works to develop irrigation systems to increase agricultural lands.
