Activities
At the Capiz Ecology and Conservation Center (CECC) and Capiz State University (CAPSU), I lead initiatives focused on the conservation and sustainable management of marine habitats, particularly mangrove ecosystems. My work includes scientific research and biodiversity assessments, community-based rehabilitation and nursery establishment, and education through citizen science and youth engagement. I integrate mangrove conservation into climate change adaptation, highlighting their role as natural coastal defenses and ecological infrastructure for small-scale aquaculture. I also collaborate with LGUs, DENR, and other partners to strengthen local policies, advocate for nature-based solutions, and ensure that mangrove protection is embedded in community development and resilience efforts.
