Activities
The Egyptian Navy Hydrographic Department (ENHD) serves as Egypt’s National Hydrographic Office and its official representative to the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO). ENHD’s activities focus on fulfilling Egypt’s obligations under the SOLAS Convention through the provision of accurate, consistent, and reliable hydrographic services and nautical products that ensure navigational safety. Beyond charting, ENHD supports maritime excellence by enabling evidence-based decision-making, leveraging a multi-dimensional hydro-spatial database, deep technical expertise, and comprehensive knowledge of Egypt’s maritime domain to deliver critical insights. In parallel, ENHD is advancing seamless access to hydro-spatial data through the implementation of Egypt’s National Marine Spatial Data Infrastructure (NMSDI), a strategic initiative designed to streamline data availability and support efficient, safe, and sustainable maritime activities nationwide.
