Brahma Kumaris is an international spiritual organisation; however, it also has a well-established Environmental Sustainability Initiative that operates globally (https://eco.brahmakumaris.org/). This initiative has been actively engaged for many years in environmental awareness, education, and policy dialogue, including participation in United Nations environmental conferences and processes.
At the national and regional level, Brahma Kumaris Mauritius functions as an active civil society organisation with a longstanding presence on the island. In addition to community and values-based educational programmes, the organisation is accredited to the Economic, Social and Cultural Council (ECOSOCC) of the African Union, the official advisory body that enables civil society organisations to contribute to African Union policy discussions on sustainable development, social transformation, and environmental stewardship.
