Scientific Research and Genetic Resources Conservation Officer at the National Gene Bank, with solid expertise in research and development related to plant genetic resources. Activities focus on designing and implementing scientific research aimed at developing innovative approaches, protocols, and methods for the conservation, study, and valorization of plant biodiversity.
Main responsibilities and activities include:
- Defining research objectives and developing scientific investigation frameworks in the field of plant genetic resources;
- Planning and conducting studies on plant biodiversity, including population analysis, geographical distribution, morphological and functional characterization, as well as conservation and valorization strategies of plant species;
- Carrying out studies on the impact of environmental factors and climate change on plant genetic resources;
- Identifying, characterizing, and classifying plant species using morphological, ecological, and functional approaches;
- Developing research on plant growth, propagation, and adaptation to changing environmental conditions;
- Performing rigorous analysis and interpretation of experimental results to produce technical reports, scientific publications, and research valorization documents;
- Preparing scientific reports, technical manuals, and management guidelines related to the conservation and sustainable use of plant genetic resources;
- Ensuring scientific rigor, organization, and compliance with quality requirements in research and conservation activities;
- Establishing and maintaining productive scientific and technical collaborations with managers, researchers, students, trainees, and institutional stakeholders;
- Coordinating and supervising multidisciplinary teams including students, technicians, trainees, and research staff.
