IES SORTS DE LA MAR is a newly created center, located at c/ Híades, 10 in the Sorts de la Mar district of Dénia since the 2013-2014 academic year.
A privileged space that allows you to contemplate the most emblematic places in the city of Dénia, El Castell, El Montgó and the Mediterranean Sea.
The history of the IES begins in 2002 with the creation of the center with a virtual character, later in 2007, due to the overcrowding of other IES in the town and thanks to the demonstrations and mobilizations of parents, students and teachers, it was decided to create IES Number 3 for the 2007-08 academic year.
In June 2007, the General Directorate of Schools granted the IES a total of 4 ESO groups (3 first and 1 second). At the end of July, work began on the installation of the prefabricated classrooms. The first school year at IES Numero 3 began on September 14, 2007.
The new center has the capacity to accommodate around 800 ESO, Baccalaureate and FPB students.
In the 2008-2009 academic year, IES No. 3 in Dénia won the second prize in the co-education awards given by the Valencian School Council with its project “Cultural Day, an integrating experience through music.”
