Activities
In 1983, several community leaders gathered and agreed to do something to save the environment. They joined hands with the Indonesian Forum for the Environment (Wahana Lingkungan Hidup Indonesia / WALHI), a collaborative forum of hundreds of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) actively working on environmental issues through their own initiative.
They formed the Environmental Mitra Fund (Dana Mitra Lingkungan / DML). They aimed to bring a wind of change through DML—a wind of environmental awareness. So that we all become partners of the environment: government, companies, banks, and anyone else. A wind of humanity, so that environmental efforts are not for individuals, groups, or factions, but for all humankind. A wind of life, so that the environment develops further, supporting a higher quality of life that is more worthy of being lived. May, through DML, the wind of change grow ever stronger.
