Activities

Ancona, the capital of the Marche region, is located on Italy's Adriatic coast. It is known for its beaches, such as Spiaggia del Passetto, and the Cathedral of San Ciriaco, perched atop a hill. In the city center, the Fontana del Calamo is a fountain with bronze masks depicting mythical figures. On either side of the harbor stand the ancient Arch of Trajan and the Lazzaretto, a pentagonal building constructed in the 18th century on an artificial island that served as a quarantine zone
