Activities
The Reef Aquaculture Conservancy (RAC) is an international charitable NGO dedicated to developing comprehensive, climate-resilient strategies for the long-term conservation of coastal ecosystems, focusing on coral reef restoration, blue carbon ecosystem management, and the creation of sustainable bioproducts. Its flagship initiative, the Blue Ocean Credits Program (BOCP)—endorsed by the UN Sustainable Development Goals and Ocean Decade—advances this mission by pairing cutting-edge marine science with real-world financing to foster a nature-positive blue economy. BOCP's activities are structured around three core pillars: identifying critical ocean knowledge through the study of blue carbon sequestration, coral biodiversity monitoring, and sustainable low-trophic aquaculture; building global capacity via collaborative research, community training, and youth engagement; and translating this knowledge into actionable, scalable solutions by operationalizing blue carbon and biodiversity credit markets, deploying advanced technologies like AI and 3D-printed reef structures for habitat restoration, and promoting regenerative eco-tourism to ensure the ecological and economic resilience of coastal communities worldwide.
