Activities
The Chemistry Unit in Sisal is the first branch campus of the Faculty of Chemistry located outside of Yucatán, and is situated on the UNAM Yucatán campus. It was created to establish a new area of teaching and research within the Faculty of Chemistry, with a focus on studies in the coastal region. It has laboratories at two locations: Sisal and the Yucatán Science and Technology Park (PCTY) in Sierra Papacal.
The unit carries out a series of activities with scientific impact, mainly in the areas of social, economic, biotechnological, health, and environmental protection in the Yucatan Peninsula, in order to promote studies of coastal chemistry in Mexico.
