Activities
The Department is responsible for the Bachelor's Degree in Atmospheric Sciences, Curriculum 2007, in the Faculty of Sciences. As such, it teaches courses for the Bachelor's Degree and conducts research in various areas of meteorology. It also teaches courses for other undergraduate and graduate programs. From its inception, the Department has had a strong focus on disseminating the discipline to foster a culture of meteorology in the country. Today, the Department also teaches courses and conducts research in physical oceanography, a discipline closely related to atmospheric sciences, since the ocean and atmosphere together determine our planet's climate.
