| Notes | Spanish only. Regional tsunami exercise organized on 11 November 2020 in the framework of PacWave20 (cf IOC Circular Letter 2812) to continue testing the products of the Central America Tsunami Advisory Centre (CATAC) hosted by the Instituto Nicaragüense de Estudios Territoriales. CATAC is under development to become the 4th Tsunami Service Provider of the Pacific Tsunami Warning System. The circular letter conveys the Exercise manual (IOC Technical Series, 156) to the focal points of the countries involved in Tsunami-CA 20 (Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama). Tsunami-CA 20 will simulate tsunami advisories after by a magnitude Mw 7.8 "slow" earthquake off the Gulf of Fonseca bordering El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua. |
