| Summary | ADVANCED HYDROGRAPHIC SURVEY TRAINING - COURSE REPORT - 16 September – 30 September 2008 Bremerhaven, Germany TECHAWI –Training and Education Centre Hydrography at AWI. The MBES training programme is a vital part of the COAST-MAP-IO course for the Improving Emergency Response to Ocean-based Extreme Events through Coastal Mapping Capacity Building in the Indian Ocean. The technical training developed here, covers data acquisition and processing for the mapping and final GIS-implementation of coastal hydrography and topographic terrain. It is part of the capacity building strategy of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC). |
