At ENSAFO Consulting Group, our specialization is in provision of advisory services for land, environment, water, marine and maritime domain in general. We are cognizant of the fact that water, land and marine applications are critically linked to agriculture, security, conflicts, infrastructure, disasters and environment in Africa, especially for the Western Indian Ocean region (and of Horn of Africa).
It is also engaged in monitoring and evaluation, capacity building, project management, community organization, feasibility studies, project formulations, and strategic plan development and addressing Blue Economy challenges.

Marine scientific research skills
- Technical expertise in Coastal Oceanographic processes including dynamical oceanography, hydrodynamic modeling, environmental monitoring, and Marine Remote Sensing applications gained at the Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute during 16 years of Scientific Research.
- All projects were innovatively crafted to address and solve pertinent environmental issues and/or problems that supported the sustainable utilization and exploitation of marine fisheries resource.
Project Management skills- Strong experience of managing complex institutional partnerships and networks between space agencies, water authorities, technical centres, donors, and several other stakeholders at a Continental African Scale as co-ordinator of TIGER Africa Initiative.
- Skilled in design and development of Strategic plans in Environmental monitoring (Marine and Water).
Managerial skills - Include organization, coordination, planning, monitoring and administration of projects (i.e., review of progress reports, expected results, deliverables, workplans and budgets)
- Preparation of funding winning proposals, managing project expenditures including regular project reporting to stakeholders; assistance to preparation of contractual agreements by partners.
- Practical experience of EC 9th EDF procedures as a Project Leader of PUMA pilot Project; Implementation of pilot project following EU Project Cycle Management guidelines; additional professional training in Project Management
Leadership skills: - Provided leadership on Earth Observation technology diffusion, transfer, and integration on the African Continent for Water Resource Management under the TIGER Africa Initiative and to Marine and Coastal Resource Management under the GMES and Africa Support Programme.
- Strengthened the dialogue within different African Union Commission (AUC) departments towards a concerted approach for Blue Economy development in Africa, promoting synergy and collaborations.
Consultancy experience: - Proficient in principles and applications of Space-based technology including Capacity Building for developing countries (Continental Africa) in the following areas: Integrated Water Resource Management (Ground and Surface Waters), Marine Remote Sensing and Early Warning Systems.
- Supported technical support to four different Marine and Coastal Consortia from Northern, Eastern, Southern and Western Africa who worked with another twenty-two different partners in development of Earth Observation operational services including strengthening cross-fertilization amongst themselves during GMES & Africa Support Programme.
- Assignments have been performed with key International players in the Earth Observation (EO) Industry including National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), European Space Agency (ESA), European Organization for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT), the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission and numerous African institutions.
