Activities
I am currently a researcher in the Program in Ecology and Fisheries of the Universidad Veracruzana. My research area is based on the identification of populations and stocks of highly exploited species in the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea, using morphology and Genetic tools. The information analyzed by me will serve to identify and delimit areas of reproduction, recruitment and fishing of the species analyzed, which can be considered important in the ecological, social and economic field. The results will be analyzed by a multidisciplinary team (INAPESCA, CONAGUA, Universidad Veracruzana, CONAPESCA), in order to develop proposals for efficient management and management through the creation or strengthening of marine protected areas in the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea, particularly in the Veracruzano Reef System National Park.
