Activities
I am a senior marine scientist with over 35 years of global research experience spanning India, the United States, and the Middle East. I hold a PhD and an MSc in marine biology from premier institutions in India, complemented by advanced postdoctoral research in the United States. My extensive expertise bridges marine environmental studies, fisheries management, and biodiversity conservation across diverse ecosystems, including the Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal, Arabian Gulf, Red Sea, and Puget Sound (Washington, USA).
Currently, I serve as a consultant for the National Center for Wildlife (NCW) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Prior to this role, I spent over a decade as a professor and senior scientist at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Dammam, Saudi Arabia. My foundational career includes more than two decades (1986–2008) with the Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI) in India, where I advanced from senior scientist to principal scientist.
An accomplished author and speaker, I have published approximately 60 peer-reviewed research papers in high-impact journals and frequently deliver scientific papers, lectures, and keynote addresses at national and international symposia, workshops, and public consultations. I possess a proven track record of leading and collaborating within multi-cultural, multi-ethnic teams, consistently driving organizational goals with a profound respect for diversity and procedural excellence.
