Skills
I have studied early life ecology of Micropogonias furnieri (the main target of the coastal Argentine fishery) in the Río de la Plata. I studied the distribution and characterization of larvae habitat as well as retention and settlement related processes (reflected in otoliths with check marks, changes in morphology, diet and growth). My objective was to draw a conceptual model about the early life history of this species, focusing in the planktonic (larvae)/benthic (juveniles) transition and defining important ecological intervals and the associated oceanographic processes.
I am currently working in Recruitment of coastal fish to develop a Recruitment index to add to fisheries models and predict the future behavior of species populations
Comment(s)
By understanding how atmospheric and oceans changes affect marine life I intend to discern about its influence on marine populations dynamics.
