Associate professor at University of Algarve / ISE. Was
Vice-rector of the university from 2010 to 2013 and was chairman of the
scientific board. Has a large experience in coordination and research in
European and National projects, currently participates in H2020 AtlantOS (20
M€, 62 Institutions). Teaching, research and consultant activities on Mathematical
Modelling of hydrodynamics, water quality and ecology. Topics are: Oil Spills, Impact of
urban waste waters on natural systems, hydrodynamics of estuarine and coastal
regions; sediment transport; water quality; ecology; river basin processes. Has
more than 20 years of experience in research and consultancy, more than 20 papers in peer
review journals and more than 50 articles in scientific conferences
