Activities
I am a marine biologist who works as Assistant Research at Labiti Lab located in Montemar, Cochoa, Chile.
My duties are related to support researchs from CIMAR, FONDECYT and INACH projects (e.g. technical support, sampling expeditions, data management, and elaborate manuscripts).
In addition, I have been doing some expedition to oceanic islands such as Juan Fernández archipelago and Rapa nui (Easter island) to understand their marine ecology and how their community has been working to conserve their resources.
Skills
As a research assistant I have been working in trophic ecology from diverse fish larvae (e.g. Labrisomidae, Notothenidae, Pinguipedidae and Myctophidae) and juveniles stages of fishes (e.g. Gobidae, Labridae) which have been collected in different environments such as open and coastal sea of Chile and Antarctica, and oceanic islands such as Rapa nui (Easter island) and Juan Fernández archipelago.
Additionally, I have been working with morphological tools such as Geometrics morphometrics (it has been possible helped by double staining method) and Elliptic Fourier Analysis to evaluate shape changes in life history traits of fishes (e.g Gobidae and Gobiesocidae) which are related to feeding structures and otolith shapes to compare among temporal and spatial scales.
