I am a researcher involved in coral reef monitoring and deep-sea crabs research for the last ten years with a specialization in the taxonomy and ecology of coral reef-associated Crustaceans and fishes. During my 8 years and 7 months tenure in the Zoological Survey of India, I was engaged in research work related to Crabs, Shrimps, fishes related to coral reefs, and mangrove ecosystems in the Andaman and Nicobar waters. I have published 21 papers in International and National journals of repute and 1 book. As a part of my research work, I have completed more than 800 dives in the Coral Reef and mangrove Ecosystem of the Andaman Sea of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, India. I have recorded 32 species of coral reefs and mangrove-associated crabs as new distributional records to Indian waters. Additionally, I have also newly recorded 12 Coral reefs associated with dwelling shrimps, 10 fishes, 24 Hard corals in the Indian waters. I was done my Ph.D. marine Biology degree (Entitle: Distribution and Systematics of Brachyuran Crabs of Andaman and Nicobar Islands)
I was worked in project Scientist B in Centre for Marine Living Resources and Ecology, under the project entitled “REIS (Resource Exploration and Inventorization System) funded by Ministry of Earth Science, Govt. of India, during my 1 year and 4 months in CMLRE, I am actively participating in the research cruise programs in the vessel FORV Sagar Sampada to accomplish my research work (CR-372; CR-374; CR-378; CR-380, No of Days: 45). And is well familiarized in a collection of samples and data using various onboard instruments such as Mesopelagic trawls, Bongo Net, Multiple plankton Net, deep-sea trawls, Grab and Dredge, etc. I am dealing with the taxonomy and diversity of Deep Sea crabs around the Arabian Sea. Apart from the field experience around the Lakshadweep archipelago, I am trained to culture and maintain the hatchery of reef-associated faunal communities, which helped me to develop a strong interest in the conservation of our valuable biodiversity resources.
Presently I am working as a Scientist B at Center for Ocean Research, COL. DR. JEPPIAAR RESEARCH PARK-SATHYABAMA INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE TECHNOLOGY.
