I am working as a service scientist on several matters related to satellite remote sensing data products for Earth System Sciences relevant for climate research; specifically I am involved in evaluation and quality assessment; usage consultation; provision and curation; web portal management; assistance with publication. My primary field is the marine cryosphere but I am responsible as well for satellite remote sensing data products from oceanography / hydrology / land surface sciences / atmosphere. I have been involved in teaching aspects of sea ice remote sensing for several years.
With respect to project work I have been involved into ESA's Climate Change Initiative sea ice ECV project for several years; currently I am also participating in the ESA SIN'XS project.
With respect to organisations I can call myself "WMO sea ice expert", am member of WMO Global Cryosphere Watch team and am involved in the CRYORA intiative.
