Conducts proactive public information and education programs and encourages participation of an informed citizenry in environmental enhancement, management and protection, and develops the capacity of the stakeholders, including local government units, people’s organizations, and civil society organizations towards greater involvement in environmental management. ▪ Coordinates and networks with various stakeholders, agencies, and institutions in enhancing the effectiveness of the implementation and enforcement of the Philippine Environmental Impact Statement System (PEISS) as a tool for integrating environmental considerations in development planning. ▪ Facilitates the mainstreaming of climate change adaptation and mitigation measures and strategies into the Regional Environmental Management Bureau’s priority programs, projects, and activities such as air quality management, water quality management, environmental impact assessment, toxic and hazardous waste management, environmental education and information, environmental research, and the management of short-lived climate pollutants.
