Activities
An invertebrate zoologist specialising in bivalves and crustaceans of economic significance, with broad themes of: a) wood digestion processes; b) life history strategies and the colonising role of larval stages; c) innovation in borer control. My approach is to tackle fundamental scientific questions and use the understanding gained to drive applied research and inform knowledge transfer. An increasingly multidisciplinary and collaborative approach has generated novel and important scientific questions about the highly unusual wood digestion of the animals I study.
