In 2012 I also worked as an intern at Inapesa S.A in the city of Loja carrying out quality control analyzes in meat products, weight control, laboratory analysis of raw materials and finished products, collaboration in the area of vacuum packaging, packaging and Data collection, labeling, verification of the finished product and control of raw materials in the production area.
Between 2016 and 2017 I joined as a research assistant in two projects at the Technical University of Ambato, the first "Identification and classification of new species of microbes isolated from ecosystems on Greenwich Island South Shetland, Antarctica" performing the maintenance of the collection of microbial cultures, DNA extraction, molecular identification through 16S rDNA gene sequencing, and other management activities associated with the project theme; the second “Development of active biodegradable films from rejected banana (Musa genus) flour and its agri-food application” carrying out physicochemical, microbiological and analytical tests during the process of making active biodegradable films from banana flour.
At the end of the work in the research projects, I collaborated as a teaching assistant at the Faculty of Food Science and Engineering and Biotechnology at the Technical University of Ambato in the field of Microbiology II, providing support and organization of laboratory practices, coordination for the realization technical visits with students, supervision of practical and theoretical exams, and other management activities associated with the subject matter.
In September 2017, I joined Yachay Tech University as a Laboratory Technician at the School of Chemical Sciences and Engineering where I am currently conducting a periodic inventory of reagents, equipment and laboratory supplies, preventive maintenance planning and corrective maintenance management of equipment, support in teaching practices, support in research projects, custodian of petty cash, administrative activities of public purchases, monthly reports of consumption of controlled reagents in the SISALEM system and administrative procedures at the Ministry of Government, and from July 2020 to December 2021 collaborating also in the processing of PCR tests for the detection of Sars-CoV-2 for the North Zone of the Country.
And I also participated in two CEPRA projects "Drilling Fluids based on Biopolymers and 2-Dimensional Objects for applications in Hydrocarbon Exploration and Production Processes - BioFluid2D" and "BIOFe: Biochar derived from guadua angustifolia residues doped with Fe for the removal of Pb, As and Cd in waters of the Ecuadorian Amazon by means of adsorption and anaerobic digestion processes”.
At the end of 2023 and beginning of 2024, I participated in the XXVII Ecuadorian Antarctic Expedition as a Field Researcher at the Comandante Ferraz Antarctic Station on King George Island in the South Shetland Islands, with the research project: "Antarctic electrobiotechnology: Evaluation of the bioenergetic activity of the electroactive microorganisms indigenous from Antarctica, for its potential application in Antarctic scientific stations".
