Research Assistant work expanding on my dissertation thesis, analysis of tidal proxies and reconstructions fitting into climate
model research. The work is largely focused on reading throughout
papers about geology, physics, sedimentology, astronomy, palaeontology, and oceanography, interpreting
and organising information for a wide public of researchers from different backgrounds to use. Collaborating to a methodological paper on the applicability of tidal sedimentological
information to palaeogeographical and palaeoceanographic model reconstructions.
Skills
• Fluent in English (IELTS Certificate level C1)
• Italian (first language)
• Numerical and computer skills: experience with Excel, ArcGIS and MATLAB.
• Fieldwork experience in the study and recognition of geomorphological features and geological processes.
• Fieldwork on the University’s survey vessel, experience in the basic use of instrumentation and in the
collection and analysis of data.
Comment(s)
As a recent Physical Oceanography graduate, I would be interested in acquiring more skills and proficiency in data acquisition and marine systems. I aim to better my understanding of oceanographic instrumentation, marine and environmental data policy and management, learn about information systems and networks.
