The IODE Steering Group for OBIS was formally established by the 21st Session of the IODE Committee through Recommendation IODE-XXI.2
SG-OBIS Terms of Reference (adopted at SG-OBIS-12, March 2024):
-Propose, and revise as necessary, the vision, mission, objectives, strategies (e.g. sustainability), management structure, work plans, budgets and timetables for OBIS
-Review and respond to reports from OBIS coordination groups
-Monitor the implementation of the adopted work plan, identify any technical, scientific or capacity challenges and suggest appropriate responses -Seek to support each other with resource mobilisation to advance the mission of OBIS together
-Report to the IODE Management Group (every year) and IODE Committee (every two years)
-Review and respond to reports from OBIS coordination groups
