The Technical Science Meeting will take place on April 22, 2025. The event will focus on "A Warming Ocean in the Caribbean Region" and its various impacts.
The agenda includes:
- A keynote speech on ocean physics, covering waves, tides, and currents.
- A session on the effects of ocean warming on coastal ecosystems, including coral reefs, seagrass beds, mangroves, beaches, and sand dunes.
- A session on Disaster Risk Reduction and coastal hazards.
- A discussion on the consequences for the blue economy, particularly in tourism and fisheries.
- Recommendations on how to address the challenges of a warming ocean.
La Reunión Técnica de Ciencia se llevará a cabo el 22 de abril de 2025. El evento abordará el tema "Un océano en calentamiento en la región del Caribe" y sus diversos impactos.
La agenda incluye:
- Una conferencia principal sobre la física de los océanos, incluyendo olas, mareas y corrientes.
- Una sesión sobre los efectos del calentamiento oceánico en los ecosistemas costeros, como arrecifes de coral, praderas marinas, manglares, playas y dunas de arena.
- Una sesión sobre reducción del riesgo de desastres y peligros costeros.
- Un debate sobre las consecuencias para la economía azul, especialmente en turismo y pesca.
