Thornton is a key centre for fuels research at Shell. Thornton’s research engines enable high precision emissions and fuel consumption measurements and its dual fuel vehicles allow the comparison of fuel performance. The centre also works to support the development of advanced fuels with bio components for use across our entire range of commercial fuels - industry, home heating and transport.
