National Hydrometeorological Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan was founded 85 years ago.
It is a large scientific center of Ministry of Environmental protection of the RK.
On the 2nd March 1999 according to the Resolution of Government it was given a status of the Republican state-owned Enterprise (RSE) “Kazhydromet”.
NHMS of Kazakhstan with the similar Services from 189 countries is a part of World Meteorological Organization (WMO) – non-governmental organization of United Nations which is responsible for environmental protection.
The main purpose of NHMS is protection of population, property and environment of the country.
NHMS performs round-the-clock monitoring, observations, analysis, forecasting and warnings of nature: in the air, water, earth, flora and fauna.
