When the FPS Science Policy was formed it was the government’s wish to enable the Belgian state to compete in the area of scientific research and technological development.
In this way, Belgium would truly be able to confirm its name for research in Europe and the world as a whole.
Belgian scientists would join international research networks and contribute to the foundation of the European research area.
Thanks to many a research programme the Federal Science Policy Office is able, through its permanently acquired scientific and technical knowledge, to offer substantial support and expert advice when it comes to matters of policy.
