Activities
The UNESCO National Commission of the United Republic of Tanzania is a public institution established under the parliament Act. 7 of 2008.
It is responsible for coordination, monitoring and evaluation of all UNESCO Programs in education, natural sciences, human and social sciences, culture, information and communication in our country. Through natural sciences the commission coordinate, monitor and evaluate various programs including the UNESCO Inter-governmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC). The programs activities under the IOC includes coordinating implementation of the Ocean Decade.
