The Second Regional Media SOP Workshop described here is to be implemented from 26 to 28 October 2021. The intention is to share the progress and achievements on SOP developments by the Media in the participating countries, as well as to discuss any unresolved issues and how to move forward. The workshop will be jointly organized by the Project Team and the national partners in a blended format similar to the First Media SOP Workshop, with virtual workshops at the regional level combined with face-to-face workshops of national working groups in each of the countries. 

OBJECTIVES

Strengthen the engagement of the media in the tsunami early warning processes in the Makran region through:

• Sharing of achievements to strengthen relationships between the Media and NTWCs/DMOs
• Reporting on progress and achievements regarding Media SOP development in the participating countries
• Discussing and continuing the work on unresolved issues related to Media SOP development by the country teams
• Discussing and agreeing how to move forward at country and regional level in order to consolidate and routinely exercise Media SOPs in the participating partner countries
• Jointly reviewing and appraising the work process and the outcomes
