The CAPM is a research organisation dedicated to improving methods of aquatic plant control and management. This involves the use of buffer zones, environmentally sensitive management of aquatic ecosystems, development of novel methods. The CAPM pioneered the use of decomposing barley straw to control nuisance algae. Current projects include management of invasive alien weeds, fate and behaviour of pesticides in the aquatic environment, development of protocols and land use planning.
