Involved in general seagrass and coral reef ecological studies in Western Australia, SE Asia and the Indo-Pacific region, with a particular interest in physical factors, such as water flow, light, etc. Other interests include marine ecosystem restoration, ecophysiology of seagrasses and macroalgae, seagrass epiphytes and corals; marine biodiversity; trophic ecology; marine wildlife. Research Director of the Coral Bay Research Station, Ningaloo Reef, Western Australia. Manage the listservers: Seagrass_Forum and Mangrove. Teaching plant and marine biology at undergraduate level and supervising research students.
