I hold a position as Assistant Professor of Sustainable and Circular Building with Mud at the Department of Hydraulic Engineering, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geosciences, Delft University of Technology (the Netherlands). I am member of the MudNet, a multi-disciplinary research network that generates new applied knowledge on mud-related topics.

My research focuses on understanding and managing the interactions between hydraulic engineering, fine sediment dynamics, and ecosystem functioning in aquatic environments. The central objective is to develop sustainable and circular approaches for sediment and water management by integrating biogeochemistry, environmental engineering, and hydraulic processes.

I have a B.Sc. degree in Oceanography, a MS degree in Environmental Oceanography and a PhD in Environmental Oceanography from Federal University of Espírito Santo-Brazil. My Bachelor's and Master’s degrees were focused on marine and coastal environment pollution, while my PhD was focused on geochemical markers and mangrove resilience. I have 7 years’ experience in an environmental monitoring program after iron ore tailings input in the fluvial and marine environments, where I focused on the flocculation process of cohesive sediments and sedimentary process and its feedback mechanisms with biota.
