• Development and participation of research projects within the scope of the ecology and biodiversity of tropical marine species and ecosystems, specifically in the lines of taxonomy and ecology of marine mollusks; intertidal and subtidal rocky bottoms (rocky shores and rocky reefs).
• Research within projects applied to conservation, particularly of focal marine species (as that of endangered and exotic/invasive species), and strategic marine and coastal ecosystems, such as monitoring and restoration of mangroves.
• Carry out field work and scientific diving in marine-coastal ecosystems.
• Participatory science in communities that include children and fishers.
• Environmental DNA sampling in marine/brackish water.
• Laboratory work: use of technology for molecular analysis and management of optical equipment for species identification and scientific photography.
• To build, process and analyze conceptual databases, within a taxonomic and ecological scope.
• To analyze and write different types of scientific documents, as papers, technical reports, grants, abstracts, and presentations.
• Administrative support activities to the projects.

• General knowledge and experience of marine biology , specially in ecology of marine rocky bottoms and malacology (taxonomy and ecology of marine mollusks).
• Written and speaking communication skills in spanish (native language), english and french.
• Ability to use different contemporary online biodiversity database platforms to support research, such as WORMS, GBIF, OBIS, MoluskBase, AlgaeBase, BHL, GISD (IUCN), WriMS (GBIF).
• Use of technology and software programs (in the field, laboratory and computer) to analyze data and conduct research.
• Scuba and scientific diving.
• Ability to work in the field, as in intertidal habitats such as rocky shores and mangroves forests.
• Analytical thinking.
• Teamworking.
