Activities
I hold a BSc. degree (Geography) from Cameroon, a Master’s of Science Degree in Marine Affairs from Xiamen University, China and a doctorate degree in Environmental Studies from the University of Brunei Darussalam. My Masters research focuses sustainable development challenges and Integrated Coastal Management (ICM) in the Littoral Region of Cameroon. My doctoral research on the other-hand invokes various complex interactions in the ocean-atmosphere coupled system influencing regional marine biogeochemistry, carbon dynamics, and long-term climate variability. I am currently working on a three-part project that seeks to re-evaluate ‘sun-ocean-climate interaction’, aiming towards long-term climate prediction. Other research projects include coastal upwelling/downwelling dynamics; marine phytoplankton dynamics; marine nutrients dynamics; regional dynamics of air-sea CO2 fluxes; Physical and biological carbon pumps; drivers of marine carbon dynamics; long term surface ocean thermal variability patterns; ENSO variability and regional impacts; Climate and ENSO prediction; Effects of multiple environmental stressors on marine phytoplankton; Integrated Coastal Management (ICM); Disaster management.
